Sunday Chores

Taane has been really keen on helping out with everything at the moment... I'm not the most patient mama, but we discovered this task, that keeps us both happy, and he needs his working outfit too, the earmuffs are particularly handy!

We had a quiet weekend at home and I re-discovered my love for seeds

Dry roasted in the pan... then made into a yummy pesto with olive oil, parmesan & parsley

and sprinkled on a leek & lentil vegie soup

simple sundays are the best!

A couple of weeks ago, we were in cleansing mode, thanks to Pipi (the dog) who emptied herself on the lounge carpet, we got one of those carpet steamers from the supermarket and Andy wen't crazy steaming up the whole house. We had Ruby that day too, so it was my mission to keep the kids outside as long as possible.

We started with some simple cleaning of Pipi's outside shelter

Which was very popular, these kids love to scrub.

The moved to a messy painting exercise (for safety reasons my camera stayed away)

so then they were messy and I put a bucket out to wash their hands.. which turned into naked bathing in the autumn afternoon sunshine

It's amazing what kind of play happens when you have constraints!
