developments

It's been a week of firsts. I went to my first tea party for the launch of the Thistle Hall 100 years booklet. I wore this T-shirt for the first time too!

I attended and participated in my first radio show, The Jewel School with my Papa.
I had a great time listening to his music, and Natalie's music on the show before, then I crashed out in the sling.

I sat in the pink bucket! It's a Paekakariki camping icon, so I am preparing for my first camping trip at the end of November weather permitting.

Mama made me my first customised, personalised bib, and to celebrate I decided to start sitting up all by myself!

multitasking, sitting up in my nightie, blowing rasberries.

And most importantly I started eating solids last Sunday. We just couldn't wait any longer, and I'm so glad, cos I LOVE food! I started on pureed apple, then I tried some pureed Japanese rice and also some golden kumara. I also love combinations of them all. I liked food SO much I wasn't contented with just one meal a day, so now I'm on two and starting three next week.
As you can see, I can't get enough. Here are some pics on Aunty Hannah and Papa feeding me.

Now I am 5 (months old)

Well, now I'm five months old. Life has been pretty busy this last month.
I am now the official owner of two little teeth. It wasn't easy, but we got through it with the aid of some homeopathic teethspray (teethmed for the mums reading this). In fact I quite like the taste of it and it feels cool on my gums. As you can see in the photos, my cheeks are pink and I like to suck on muzlin wrapped apple.

I am also in my cot now. That took a while to get used to, it's pretty spacious, but we've filled it up with toys now and I'm getting used to it, but sometimes I get a fright when the sides go up or down.

I'm almost ready to start solids, but mamma is waiting a few more weeks, we are both excited about the prospect and I have been practicing sitting in my highchair at breakfast times.

I love being nude. see how happy I am!

Bath time is a riot, I splash around and love a few bubbles (mostly)!

Here I am at Ruby's first birthday, I dressed as a gangster... everybody said I looked cute, but I was trying to look tough!

Yesterday Mamma made me some new pants out of this cool helicopter print fabric, pretty choice eh? She is digging her new sunroom/workroom so I reckon I might get a few more things sewn for me!

spring in our garden

On the weekend Andy and I got inspired and discussed our Garden plan. He already had a lot of ideas and it was great to hear them all. In the next few weeks we will be working on our raised vege beds, my job is to find cheap soil from earthmovers.

We have broad beans, baby spinach and lots of lovely herbs coming into season right now and Andy has many trays filled with growing seedlings ready to plant out once we are sure the frosts have gone.

The Sakura tree is in blossom and so is the Braeburn apple, I'm looking forward to the day when they will provide some shade on the lawn and hold a string of lights for an evening garden party.
Below you can see Lavender, Manuka, Irises and a few things I have no idea what they are, but I love them when they randomly pop up in spring.

baby talk videos #1

Taane talks...

Our farm holiday

We had a lovely week in Hawkes Bay last week. Lovely weather, time with all the family and some good opp shopping. Some of us even got down and dirty with the sheep, helping drench and vaccinate the new lambs.

First we had to round the sheep up...

And Taane helped, keeping a close eye on goings on...
