The Silly Season

We have decorated two Christmas trees already, first Grandma and Poppa's tree with the help of Toby and Grandma. Taane got to use the word baubles quite a bit, which was exciting for him, we had to teach him that they were not balls, in case the pretty things came to a tragic and dangerous end, lucky they have their own special name. Grandma has a cool collection of ornaments from around the world, including this Hello Kitty from Japan.

Then we brought our tree inside, I'm quite proud of it, we grew it from a pine cone in Ruby's garden... and it's getting bigger and stronger every year. We are trying to start some Christmas traditions of our own, the first is we make a new set of decorations every year. This year we made salt ceramic ones, and painted them. We aim to keep one from each year and then we will have a varied set. We only need a few because our tree is so small.

The other tradition is that Grandma buys a special decoration from the Kirks Christmas store, this year we got this lovely Father Christmas, but he's too heavy for our little branches, so he's hanging out at the bottom of the tree. Taane calls him "Christmas Boy"!!

The camera broke, which why I haven't posted for a while...
Then it fixed itself, thankfully.

Last weekend we went to the Pauatahanui School
lamb and calf show, I scored some great Playmobil
and Taane got to meet a whole lot of animals, and ride Bert,
the tractor.

Today was lovely, so we went to the zoo with
some friends, Taane now zonked in the car, hence I
have time to update the blog.

the man with the yellow hat

The king of the castle. Kicking it in a cool colour combo, note the matching hat, nappy and blocks in cup... loving colours at the moment!

Here he is in the castle daddy made from the dishwasher box... I made cool orange flags which fly on Granny's old knitting needles, but they get deconstructed pretty fast.

Saturday out with Dad and they discovered yet another Hutt City goldfish mural...

and proud backpack wearer outside Real Groovy, hanging with Mitsu the beats.

This pair of undie, gumbooty nutters got way wet at playcentre and had to run home half nude. They loved it!

Taane and Ruby

Ruby has a couple of things up on Taane, one she is a girl and two she is 7 months older... He has no idea what she has planned for him, but he plays along...

Today at Playcentre, she ran out of paper, so started painting herself, and then him...

They had such a great time!

CHEESE

It's all love. :)
